Description
Model 50PA-1091 is an 8 x 2 limited configuration (LC) handover test system for cellular testing. As shown on the block diagram the eight ANT (antenna) ports are directly connected to programmable attenuators that have 0-127dB by 1dB step attenuation range. All ports operate bi-directionally. The programmable attenuators can be controlled individually or assigned to blocks (i.e. groups). Individual attenuators can be faded over time using the Fade Attenuator command. Blocks of attenuators can be faded together over time using the Fade Block command. Two attenuators can also be faded in opposite directions over a specified time to simulate a cellular handover using the Variable Attenuator Handover command.
Remote Command Set
All remote command syntax and examples can be found in our firmware manual. Our firmware uses simple ASCII formatted remote commands. If you are connected to a JFW test system and send the HELP command, it will respond back with a list of all remote commands for that specific test system.
Manual Attenuator Control
The manual control menu allows you to set/read an attenuator, fade an attenuator, or perform a handover using two attenuators.
Remote Attenuator Control
This attenuator assembly can be remotely controlled via an Ethernet connection or a serial connection (i.e. RS-232). The network settings can be changed manually with the keypad or remotely using the NET remote command. The network interface can be set to either DHCP mode or Fixed Address mode. All new test systems are shipped from the factory in DHCP mode. A RS-232 connection to the test system is made using a null modem type serial cable. Baud rates up to 155200 baud are available. The baud rate can be changed manually with the keypad or remotely with the SERIAL remote command.
