Description
Model 50PMA-155 is a 12 port transceiver test system operating 350-6000 MHz in a 19 inch rack mount enclosure. It has a mesh configuration with full fan-out. With this type of construction there is a path between every pair of ports. There are 66 paths in the 12 port mesh and every path has its own individually controlled programmable attenuator. The attenuators have attenuation range 0-95 x 1dB steps. To check the attenuation settings of all attenuators use the RAP (read all paths) command. The test system will respond back with a listing of all 66 path attenuation settings.
Radio to Radio Testing
Full fan-out mesh transceiver test systems can be used to simulate static or dynamic environments for testing radio to radio communication. All paths between radios have their own individually controlled step attenuator. The signal level between radios can be changed up/down over the full attenuation range of the step attenuators. The attenuators can be set to static values using the set attenuator remote command or can be faded over a time interval using the fade attenuator remote command.
Remote Attenuator Control
The transceiver test system can be remotely controlled via an Ethernet connection or a serial connection (i.e. RS-232). The network settings can be changed manually with the keypad or remotely using the NET remote command. The network interface can be set to either DHCP mode or Fixed Address mode. A RS-232 connection to the test system is made using a null modem type serial cable. Baud rates up to 155200 baud are available. The baud rate can be changed manually with the keypad or remotely with the SERIAL remote command.
