Wi-Fi 6E Passive Components and RF Test Systems
What is Wi-Fi 6E? This refers to the IEEE 802.11ax-2021 standard that was approved in February 2021. In addition to the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, it also utilizes new spectrum in the so-called “6 GHz band” that covers from 5.925 – 7.125 GHz.
In anticipation of this development, over the last few years JFW has introduced numerous new products to support testing the full range of frequencies allotted by Wi-Fi 6E. Available passive RF components now include:
- Programmable Attenuators that cover 200-8400 MHz: 50P-2109 (TTL) and 50P-2111 (USB)
- Terminations that cover DC-8 GHz: 50T-007 (2W, N male) and 50T-653 (5W, N/SMA/TNC)
- Reactive Power dividers covering 2-8 GHz: 50PD-634 (2-way), 50PD-638 (4-way) and 50PD-647 (8-way)
- Resistive Power dividers covering DC-7.2 GHz: 50PD-870 (4-way) and 50PD-871 (8-way)
In addition, JFW has introduced new programmable attenuator assemblies for automated testing, in both benchtop and 19″ rack packages. These units can be configured with varying numbers of attenuators depending on your Wi-Fi 6E testing requirements. All JFW RF test systems include our control software at no additional charge.
The 50BA-048-95 comes in our standard benchtop enclosure and contains two programmable attenuators that cover 200 MHz – 8.4 GHz with 0-95 dB of attenuation in 1 dB increments. Control is provided remotely via Ethernet or RS-232, or manually via the front panel levers. The current attenuation setting is also shown on the LED displays.
The 50PA-1183-xx is a 2RU enclosure that can be configured with between 1 and 8 programmable attenuators that cover 200 MHz – 8.4 GHz and have 0-95 x 1 dB of attenuation. The attenuators are controlled remotely via Ethernet or RS-232, or manually using the front panel keypad and display.
